Meet the author of CHARIOT TAXI and VUURWA-TAXI and the founder of Sela®

Author and Founder of  Sela® – Anneline De Hout

Who are you?

I am wife to Stefan and mother to Jana. I don’t think of myself as an author, but I love writing and have published books, which probably makes me an author. I am the founder of Sela Co-publishing – helping others to self-publish their books.

What inspired you to write this book?

For years I said, one day when I have the time, I would love to write this story. When we started home schooling and my daughter could work on her own, I realised I had a bit of time on my hands. Then the Lord reminded me of this story.

What is Chariot Taxi about and why did you write it?

When I was 21, I travelled overseas with a friend. We worked in Israel for a few months and when the opportunity arose to go to Egypt for 7 days, we went. We were kidnapped while in Cairo. My story, Chariot Taxi tells of how God sent His angels to bring us to safety.

Who is your book intended for?

I wrote the book so that anyone can enjoy it, young and old. It’s not a children’s book, but by adding the workbook as an extra aid, it helps children to gain insight and understanding. For a child, the workbook is intended to “colour in” the outline of the story.

What did you learn when writing your book?

I had to do a lot of research, as I had no-one to guide me in how to self-publish.

What surprised you the most?

Writing the book helped me to deal with the events that took place so many years before. Even if I never had the chance to publish this book, it was worth documenting the event. It brought healing to me.

Does this book describe your journey in any way?

It’s a short part of my journey, but the events described in the book has set me on a new path.

What purpose do you hope your book to achieve?

I want people to know that God is able and faithful.
