Anneline de HoutAuthor Anneline de Hout released her debut book “Vuurwa-Taxi” in early 2016. Since then, she published the English version of the same book, “Chariot-Taxi”, and in 2021 “Vertoonkas/Showcase” was released.

It is Anneline’s passion to help people document their stories. She presents a variety of workshops – creating a space for people to explore different ways of documenting their lives, their prayers and their dreams. Through the Lord’s leading she uses Sela as a co-publishing vehicle to assist authors to publish His stories.

Anneline is currently busy writing the #Uncover Series.

With the #Uncover series Anneline invites people on a journey to uncover the mysteries of the Hebrew language. The Lord started giving Anneline dreams: A hand, writing Hebrew letters – this led to a journey of discovery. As she started to make notes of what she uncovered, the Lord told her to take others with her on this journey. The workbooks are designed in such a way that the reader has space to make notes of their own “uncovering”.

Anneline says, “There are many layers to every Hebrew letter and every Hebrew word – I therefore encourage the reader to ask Abba Father: ‘What do you want to show me about this letter.’ Through His Spirit, He is faithful to uncover something new to you.”

The #Uncover Series now consists of:

The Aleph-Bet Workbook – uncover the Hebrew Alphabet, Aleph-Bet Flash cards – uncover reading Hebrew, and the El Workbook – uncover YHVH.

In addition, Anneline also designed Hebrew stencils that are packaged with an A5 laminated Hebrew Alphabet Summary sheet.

Anneline says, “Before creating the stencil, I was looking for a Hebrew stencil and could not find any in South Africa. So I thought – if I would like one, then others might too. That is when I started designing the stencil. The same with the reading cards. The words ‘take others with you’ echoed in my spirit.”

All these products and workbooks are to aid people in becoming comfortable with the Hebrew language and even learn how to implement it.

Who will benefit from this series?

The typical audience for this #Uncover series will be Christians who have a desire to gain insight into the Hebrew language.

We asked Anneline, what she has discovered while writing this series.

This #Uncover series documents my journey of discovering, and I look forward to the journey ahead as I know there is more to uncover.

The Lord already gave me some indication of the next two workbooks in this series and I am looking forward to the journey with Him.

Is this Series different to your previous books?

The #Uncover series is very different from my previously published works, which were based more on my testimony. In this case, I started writing without knowing the content and learning as the Lord teaches me, and I have gained enough understanding to document what He uncovered.

Does this series describe your journey in any way?

The whole #Uncover series is a documentation of my journey, and I trust that as I share this journey with you, it encourages you to allow the Lord to lead you on new insights into who He is.

What purpose do you hope for your book to achieve?

I often feel so inadequate to share the Hebrew language and insights – I did not do years of Hebrew studies and yet my audience is often people who have done years of Hebrew studies. Yet, the Lord tells me to continue to take people with me as I uncover more of Him. This is the purpose of the series – YHVH wants us to know Him, and there is so much to uncover!

The next workbook to follow on from here is “Uncover Christ”, and I know the Lord planned “Uncover the Bride” too.

Please follow me on social media or keep an eye on the Sela platforms if you are interested in the #Uncover Series.

How do you go about marketing your book?

I am not comfortable wearing the marketing hat. My standpoint is that the same God who equipped me to write these books can equip me to sell them. I strongly rely on the Lord’s leading in this matter.

Currently, the best exposure for these books is when I present a workshop – especially the “prayer journaling workshop”. At these workshops, I lead the group to use the Hebrew Alphabet to formulate prayers for their loved ones – based on their names written in Hebrew.

A few privately owned Christian bookstores scattered all over South Africa keep these products in stock.

I sell them through both Sela-books and Atavah online shop websites.

Apart from my Author’s page on Facebook, I have an “Uncover Series” group.
