About
RODNEY LIEBICH was born in 1946 and raised in a rural community in South Africa’s Eastern Cape.
In 1968, he and Délice Germond were married. They have been blessed with four daughters, a son, and twelve grandchildren.
Rodney has retired from his secular occupation as a computer software analyst and now invests more time in Bible School curriculum and devotional material preparation.
He studied theology by correspondence and also attended the Rhema Bible School, Randburg, in 1982.
While attending Bible School, he worked in the Children’s Ministry of their local congregation and preached in tent meetings in the Eastern black townships of the greater Johannesburg area.
The family relocated to Cape Town in 1983 to launch a Bible School. Ordination into ministry and appointment as an associate pastor followed in 1984.
In 1986, the congregation where he served amalgamated with the Lighthouse Ministries in Parow, where he still serves. There, Rodney, assisted by his late wife Délice, led the Children’s Ministry for several years. During that period, he also lectured at the Lighthouse Word School. He and Délice served in voluntary capacities with the S.A. National Sunday School Association (SANSSA), training and supporting workers in many denominational churches.
Thereafter, the Lord led the couple into serving and discipling the growing number of African refugees in the community. The need to upskill refugees led to the couple relocating to a smallholding, where sustainable farming methods are pursued.
In 2021, Rodney, assisted by the late Pastor Katchunga, with the backing of his congregation’s leadership, launched a free multilingual WhatsApp Bible School for marginalised African church leaders. Currently, the school has several classes and a growing number of graduates from nations across Africa.
