This book is the first of a trilogy. All three parts concentrate on events at the Cape.  This volume highlights special contributions of Georg Schimidt and Dr Henricus van Lier as pioneers of revival.

The three parts of work depict how the Cape has been impacting other parts of the world, notably via the special revival in rural Boland in 1860.  Part 1 takes the reader up to the spiritual renewal at the Cape at the beginning of the 20th century and the influence of The Key to the Missionary Problem by Dr Andrew Murray that had a global impact.
